1. Do you believe America is becoming more hostile towards American-Muslims and immigrants?

No answer

2. Should private schools enforce policy preventing certain religious attire, i.e. hijabs, yamakas, headscarves, etc.?

This is a loaded question.  I'm not sure what point your attempting to prove.  A lot depends on what type of "private school."  Private schools are "private" and should be able to enforce their policies unless they are otherwise breaking the law.

3. Do you believe that law enforcement and public employees should receive sensitivity training, including training regarding race, gender and religious preference?

I believe they should, and generally do, receive training to show the proper respect to all individuals.

4. Upon request, should public school systems grant space on-campus for K-12 students of any faith for private prayer?

If they grant accommodations for one religious group, they should be required to make the same for others.  We have freedom of religion in the State of Missouri and the United States.

5. One of the best ways to gain familiarity with the local Muslim community is by attending public dinners during the month of Ramadan. Will you commit to attending one of these dinners in or near your district?

It sounds worthwhile.  I sometimes have a very tight schedule, but I would be willing to attend if someone would contact me.

6. Did you support the Trump administration’s current version of the Travel Ban?

The administration policies apply to the same countries that were subject to restrictions by the Obama administration.

7. Should employers be able to restrict religious attire or religious practice within the workplace?

Is this a problem?  Unless there is a non-discriminatory legitimate purpose, such as safety in an industrial area where some robe or scarf could get wrapped up in machinery, there should be no reason for that.  These are constitutional law questions and I do not see that any new enactments are necessary to augment the protections existing under our State and U.S. Constitution.

8. As an Elected Official, will you commit to denouncing anti-Muslim hate speech and hate-crimes when and if they occur in Missouri?

I think the issue is your First Amendment right to free exercise of religion.  I would denounce any activity or behavior that oppresses someone due to their religious beliefs.

9. Do you believe Muslim refugees pose a security threat to the United States?

I believe that some refugees, of whatever origin or religion, may pose a threat to our national security.  All persons entering our country need to be properly vetted.
